Sophie is the main driving force, key contact and main person organising this event.
Originally from West Yorkshire, but has lived in NZ for over 10 years. She started caching in 2011 and is aiming to make the 2016 Geocaching event her 10,000th cache. She started caching when her best friend’s mum came over to visit and wanted to go out caching when she was here. What on earth is that, a bit of research and she was signed up, a little while later and she was hooked and has not looked back since.
She has cached in 10 countries with her furthest North being at the top of Norway - Nordkapp (GC1V4PY) and her furthest South being in Stewart Island - A Rakiura Nugget (GCHF14). She lent a hand during the Auckland Mega and was part of the team that had a very successful haul during a 24hr period at the OZ Mega 2014.
Travis is our money man, he is keeping the books and keeping Sophie to budget.
Originally from Whangarei, but now lives in Auckland. He started geocaching in April 2011 and, after a slowish start, soon became addicted!
Having just complete his 10,000th find on White Island, he is looking for his next challenge.
With over 16,000 finds, many tricky puzzles and having been on the Auckland Mega committee, it was a pleasure to have their help.
Barb very kindly agreed to help with our designs, so all the fabulous artwork is Barb working out Sophie's confused emails and messages.
She does a fabulous job and we are very lucky to have her on board.
Artistic Kristin and Krista and a wonderful addition to the team, helping with additional artwork and a great sound board.
Having just reached their 4000th find and having attended several Megas with Sophie recently they really appreciate the challenge ahead.
Steve was helping with promotion, and initial contact for sponsorship's.
Based in Hamilton and part of the Hamilton over-achievers club.
